I’m Nerkissa Curtis Dixon, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare. I’m passionate about providing thoughtful, evidence-based mental health care that’s accessible, supportive, and personalized.

My journey began in 2004 as a registered nurse, with nearly two decades of experience working on medical-surgical and trauma units at USA University Hospital. Alongside clinical care, I’ve spent more than 15 years as a nursing educator, mentoring future nurses at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing, where I continue to serve on faculty. My academic background includes a Doctorate in Education and a Master’s in Nursing Education—reflecting my deep commitment to lifelong learning and teaching.

In clinical practice, I specialize in working with adults ages 18 and older, helping clients manage a wide range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, ADHD, and stress-related conditions. I’m also certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and enjoy supporting clients through the unique emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

I believe mental wellness is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why I take a holistic and collaborative approach—listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and creating a treatment plan that respects your values, lifestyle, and goals. Whether we’re exploring medication management, stress reduction techniques, or long-term support, my priority is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered on your journey to better mental health.

Through telehealth services across Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, I aim to break down barriers to care—so you can receive quality support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

When you’re ready, I’m here to help you reflect, heal, and grow.
